The DF Barnes group was originally established as a small welding and fabrication shop in 1931. Since then the group has evolved into a globally focused entity helping the world development, energy extraction, and marine transportation.
Building for more than 70 years the DFB is comprised of five strategic businesses:

  • D.F. Barnes Services Ltd: This is the company that started the whole DFB group; it specializes in welding and machine repair. This is located at 22 Sudbury Street.

  • GEC Installations Inc: This is a western based company that provides welding and fabrication to the resources sector.


  • Orphan Industries Ltd: This company is DF Barnes’ facility of exports such as large machine parts and structures. This company is located at 45 Pepperell Road.


· Extreme East Rigging Services Ltd: this is the groups company that inspects and tests the things that clients need but also specializes in rigging up lines to lift things. This company can be found at 11 Pepperell Road.

· DFB Driver Inc: driver is the company that offers construction workers project managers and site services like extracting energy for Canada’s east coast.

    • Safety and training
    • At DFB group all employees are put through safety training like the first day all new employees have to attend a safety orientation. The new employees are given a tour of the workplace and introduced to other employees as new. In addition before work begins at specific job site the employees are introduced to emergency response plans.
